Position Overview Davis Machine Co. is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Project Manager to lead our industrial machining and refurbishment projects from kickoff through final delivery. This role combines project coordination, meticulous documentation, material control, and logistics, requiring close collaboration with the shop floor, office team, vendors, and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest specifications. In this hands-on role, we are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced machine shop environment and is adept at managing every detail, schedule, documentation, and logistics. Key Responsibilities - Lead the Charge: Plan, manage, and track projects from inception to completion, ensuring smooth execution at every phase. - Schedule Master: Develop and maintain project schedules and priorities, adapting to changes swiftly to keep projects on track. - Material Maestro: Ensure all required materials are identified, ordered, tracked, and available when needed, anticipating potential delays. - Collaboration Guru: Coordinate subcontracted work (NDT, heat treat, coating, cutting and forming etc.) as necessary, fostering strong relationships with our valued partners. - Supplier Liaison: Manage communication with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain schedules, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout. - Quality Assurance Champion: Prepare and compile QA documentation and closeout packages (inspection reports, NDT records, material traceability, etc.) to uphold our commitment to quality. - Logistics Conductor: Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, collaborating with carriers, freight providers, and our internal shipping/receiving team to ensure seamless operations. - Organizational Wizard: Maintain organized project records and documentation, ensuring easy access and retrieval for all stakeholders. - Proactive Problem Solver: Identify and resolve scheduling, material, or logistical issues before they escalate, keeping projects running smoothly. Qualifications & Experience - Proven experience in project coordination or project management, preferably in manufacturing, machining, or industrial settings. - PMP Certification while not a requirement, is a significant asset. - Exceptional organizational and documentation skills, with a keen eye for detail. - Comfortable working with technical drawings, specifications, and other documentation. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills that foster collaboration and clarity. - Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP systems, JobBOSS2 in particular is a plus. - Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards. - Strong understanding of material procurement, subcontracting, and logistics processes.
