As a Junior Data Center Operations Technician in the Hardware and Bare Metal team at i3D.net, you’ll grow to be the hands-on expert ensuring the smooth operation of our global datacenter hardware. From installing and troubleshooting to maintaining and upgrading (move-add-change-delete), your work directly impacts the performance and reliability of the infrastructure powering some of the world’s largest gaming companies. If you’re someone who enjoys building PCs, experimenting with a home lab, or diving into how servers, networks, and infrastructure work behind the scenes, this role will give you the opportunity to turn that curiosity into real-world impact.
Hardware Setup & Maintenance:
Install, configure, and troubleshoot datacenter hardware, including
servers and network gear.
Handle tasks like swapping servers, managing cables, and keeping racks
organized.
Set up RAID configurations, work with BMC ports, and image servers
using tools such as PXE boot, USB installation, or other system
deployment methods.
Follow rack designs, learn about cooling systems, airflow management,
and power distribution within a datacenter environment.
Suggest smarter ways to work, making operations faster and more
efficient.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Work with internal teams and vendors to handle deployments,
maintenance, and new site setups.
Keep documentation and the knowledge base up to date with everything
you learn.
You’ve got it covered: Confidently manage installations, troubleshooting,
and maintenance of servers, networking equipment, and supporting
infrastructure.
Team Player: Your contributions make things easier for everyone, and your
ideas help the team improve.
In the loop: You understand how our datacenter operations work, how
servers interact with networking and virtualization layers, and how
everything fits together to deliver high availability.
Problem Solver: You enjoy troubleshooting hardware and figuring out why
systems behave the way they do.
Technical Know-How: You’re familiar with RAID setups, BMC ports, imaging
servers, or have gained similar experience through work, study, or personal
projects such as building PCs, running a home lab, or experimenting with
virtualization platforms.
Networking Skills: You understand networking basics such as TCP/IP, DNS,
DHCP, connectors, cable management, and configuring SFP modules.
Curious by Nature: You may have experimented with things like Linux,
virtualization, Docker, NAS setups, or game server hosting and enjoy
learning how infrastructure works behind the scenes.
Physical Capability: You’re comfortable lifting 45kg and live within 50km of
our Montreuil Datacenter for on-call shifts.
Organized: You like to keep clean, detailed documentation and structure
your workflow accordingly.
French & English fluency: You have solid French skills for written and
spoken communication when needed. Fluency in English is a must.
Work Location & On-Call: On-site, full-time (5 days per week). You’ll be part
of a rotating on-call schedule (one week every 5 weeks) with additional
compensation; on-call duties may occur outside business hours and can
often be handled remotely.
